“I would expect that next year, people will share twice as much information as they share this year, and next year, they will be sharing twice as much as they did the year before,” he said. “That means that people are using Facebook, and the applications and the ecosystem, more and more.”

Call it Zuckerberg’s Law.

We think sharing is great! Except maybe not so much when you’re being pushed to do it by large corporations whose business model depends on convincing you to not value that information you’re sharing as much as advertisers do.

I do not mind sharing my personal information to some extent in order to receive a good service or to be connected with my friends I know. But I do have a border or line that I would not cross. As I get exposed to Facebook or other SN services that implicitly force us to share personal information, I am afraid that I would get used to it, and as a result I would end up having a higher tolerance to sharing personal information few year later. I am not sure if that is a good thing or not.

It is good to receive personalized information by sharing your personal information. However, I think people should be aware of the consequences.
